Come watch Kumamoto City's mascot Higomaru and his pal Arisa sing and dance. Everyone is welcome.


Further Changes to Operating Hours & Closing of Select Shops

Changes to Operating Hours

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, starting June 1st, souvenir shops will be open from 10:00 to 19:00 and restaurants will be open from 11:00 to 19:00.

Hours may again change in the event of further spread of coronavirus, etc. Please call 096- 288-5577 (9:30-17:30) for more details.

Precautions Taken at Josaien

  • Staff are being instructed to wash their hands with soap, gargle, use disinfectant spray on hands, and be mindful when coughing.
  • Staff are instructed to wear masks in order to prevent infection between staff and visitors.
  • Disinfectant spray is available at convenient locations throughout Josaien for use by visitors.
  • Please maintain distance between others when standing in line.

By Bus: Board bus to Kotsu Center. Get off at Kotsu Center, head towards Castle, follow signs to Sakuranobaba Josaien.
